The "Imagine School Program" in Bangladesh with "We Act For Kids" Fond'actions

On April 26th, over a hundred children from three classes in a Dhaka slum received their “Citizen Engagement Diploma” during a celebration that was both joyful and solemn. For the past year, these students have been participating in the “Imagine School Program” implemented in Bangladesh in partnership with the “We Act For Kids” Fond’actions .*
This initiative has enabled the children to engage, both individually and collectively, in three sustainable development projects. They chose to work on crucial issues aimed at improving their living conditions and those of their entire community:
- Cleaning the classroom and its surroundings and raising awareness among neighbors about waste sorting to prevent the spread of pests (fleas, mosquitoes, etc.). This children’s initiative created a ripple effect: adults also became involved in this extensive hygiene campaign.
- 💧NO WATER – NO LIFE Under this initiative, the children conducted a significant water sanitation awareness campaign. Armed with signs, they approached residents of the community to educate them on the importance of clean drinking water. They demonstrated how to use water purification tablets to better manage this crucial resource.
- Fighting Against Forced Marriage of Young Girls Given that Bangladesh has one of the highest proportion of child marriages in South Asia, the final class chose to use a play to reach a wide audience. A young bride from the community even visited their class to share her story, creating a poignant moment.
