With professionals, at the INTERNATIONAL MEDIA MEETING – RIM 2024

Here we were !

As founder of an information NGO, a pioneering and highly original model, Frédérique Bedos was invited to speak on the theme of “New Media” at the first “International Media Meeting” (RIM2024) held in Marseille on 4 July.

This new annual event, organised by CMA Media (the media arm of the CMA-CGM Group), brings together key media players to take an uncompromising look at the media and information issues facing a rapidly changing world.

Among those present were Sibyle Veil – Chairman of the Radio France Group, Pierre Louette – Chairman of the Les Échos – Le Parisien Group, Nicolas de Tavernost – founder of the M6 Group and now Vice-chairman of CMA Media, Sébastien Missoffe – Director of Google France… So,  it was in front of an audience of renowned professionals that Frédérique was able to explain the “raison d’être” of the Projet Imagine.

This invitation underlines the growing awareness of the huge role played by the media in enabling every citizen to get involved and take action. It’s up to us to rise to that responsibility!

“The purpose isn’t on our screens, but on the pitch.”
Frédérique Bedos

As a lot of media, Le Projet Imagine produces audiovisual content to inform international public debate.
Our guiding principle: to provide balanced information that allows people to form their own opinions, and constructive information so that everyone can continue to plan for the future.  By following this line, we can avoid a number of pitfalls, such as excessive polarisation and the hysterisation of debates.
This vigilance is crucial: let’s remember that the “fourth estate” is an indestructible pillar of democracy!

But in fact, Le Projet Imagine isn’t a media: it’s an information NGO, recognised by the UN, which uses the power of the media to spread its message of hope around the world. The aim is clear: to encourage everyone to do their bit, and so create a vast movement of committed citizens in favour of a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable society, and a more peaceful way of living together.
